Keep Your Social Media Content Engaging

Creating social media content will always be fun, but it quickly becomes less so when you’re starting to run out of ideas. Then again, it happens to just about everyone, even to people who’ve been at it for a long time.

So, if you wake up one day at a loss on what to post for your audience on social media, don’t fret. There are plenty of possibilities when it comes to social media marketing content. Here are some of them.

Teasers

Is your company about to launch a new product or service in a few weeks, or even months? Hype up the launch by posting teasers about it.

A simple blurb related to your new offering should do it, but an image, or better yet, a video, can prove to be even more engaging for your followers.

User-Generated Content

Your social media channels can benefit from content created by your fans and followers. According to a Stackla survey, consumers are 2.4 times more likely to consider user-generated content as more authentic than content created by brands.

By sharing user-generated content, you get a credibility boost, and you get to post something on a day you’re having a hard time thinking about what to post. Of course, you need to make sure you have the content owner’s permission before posting it on your channels.

Ask Your Audience What They Want You To Post

Your audience knows exactly what they want, so it won’t hurt to ask them what kind of posts they’re looking forward to seeing on your social media channel. If you already have a dedicated following, you can be sure that there will be no shortage of social media content ideas coming your way.

Ask Fun, Trivial Questions

While we’re on the subject of asking your audience, keep in mind that there should always be space for trivial questions on your social media channel. They are, after all, good ways to foster engagement.

So, ask them questions like:

  • Who has the better handles: Steph Curry or Kyrie Irving?
  • Would you rather _____ or ______?
  • What did you have for lunch?
  • Pit bulls or Chihuahuas?

You can ask whatever question crosses your mind, but make sure you keep everything clean, though.

Freebies!

There will never be a universe where inhabitants hate getting free stuff.

That said, the people in this universe love freebies, so indulge them by giving some of them away through a contest or a simple giveaway event. You can have discounts or your products themselves up for grabs.

By giving free stuff away, you get to hit three birds with one stone: you get to post something, attract more engagement, and people will appreciate your generosity.

Industry News

Whatever relevant industry news breaks out your followers will likely want to hear you say something about it. You can share a link to the news itself, then post a one-liner (or more, if you’re up to it) that sums up what you feel about the issue at hand. You can go serious, or you can be clever about it.

Livestreaming

Your blog is good, but your audience needs live video. At least that’s what live streaming statistics from 99firms seem to be saying, as 80% of consumers would rather watch a live video than read a blog.

With live streaming, you get to connect with your audience on a more personal level, as you get to field questions in real time, and they’ll get to see your face and hear your voice provide them the answers they need.

Give Newest Team Members a Warm Welcome

If people just got onboard your team, post about them and give them a warm welcome on your company’s social media account.

Your audience would definitely like to see and get to know the people who make your business tick, giving your organization a more relatable human face.

Share or Create Funny Memes

Judging by the sheer number of funny memes online, it’s almost safe to say the Internet is for memes. There are funny memes everywhere, so find ones you think will be a hit with your audience and share them on social media. You can even create one with all the meme generators out there.

Share Quotes

If you think memes are everywhere, wait till you start digging up quotes online. There is a world of quotes out there from just about anyone who was somebody at some point in history.

Clever and even sarcastic quotes are fine, but your audience will likely appreciate inspirational quotes more, especially when you consider the times we live in today, no thanks to a global pandemic.

These are just some social media content ideas that you can use when you’re feeling a bit of a creative block. Once that creative block clears, you can set them aside as you do your usual posts. Use them again whenever the need arises.
