Croix, France, May 13, 2022 — Exotec just announced it had built its 3,000th robot. These robots can reach a height of 36 feet to enable high-density inventory storage and increase warehouse throughput up to 5 times with two minute response times for all SKUs.
The Skypod robots are still produced entirely by Exotec at its headquarters in France and exported across the world. Exotec is counting on faster recruitment to sustain these production volumes and the deployment of its systems in Europe as well as North America and Asia.
One hundred employees, mainly engineers, have been taken on since the start of 2022. This is another important step for Exotec, which announced last January during a record fundraising round that it planned to hire 500 engineers, some of whom will start in 2024 at Imaginarium, Exotec’s new head office in Wasquehal, which is destined to become a center for Made in France robotics and engineering.
“The production of this 3,000th robot is a huge milestone for us that rewards all the effort and commitment of our teams, and helps us keep pace with a demand that’s increased tenfold over just a few months,” said Renaud Heitz, CTO and co-founder of Exotec. “We aim to keep moving faster, especially in the United States, and we’ll continue to recruit in order to sustain this production rate and keep ahead of the curve in terms of R&D.”
